AMD A6 vs INTEL I3: Are you a student or someone who is on a very tight budget and looking for a good CPU that will give you a decent performance? So this article is for you. Today I will be discussing the two most popular budget CPU’s which are AMD A6 and Intel I3. They are both very fast and powerful and won’t cost you a lot of money. So without further a due let’s get started.
Intel I3 10th Gen
This is a very popular and powerful low-end CPU. this CPU provides the user with a 3.3 GHz clock speed. It cost almost $166 and I can guarantee that this CPU won’t let you down. It has its own Intel integrated graphics and can pretty easily handle less demanding titles like GTA v. Call of Duty Modern Warfare without any lags or freezes. It was first launched in November 2016.
This is the performance of this CPU without a dedicated graphics card. If you want to upgrade your machine in the future then I would highly recommend you to go with this CPU cause if you add a graphic card with this processor then the performance will be more improved. This supports DDR 3 ram which is not the latest and this might be a let down for many people considering the price tag.
Intel I3 Features
- It has a total of 4 cores and 4 threads.
- It has the highest clock speed of 3.4 GHz.
- The price is a bit on the higher side costing around $166.
- 3 MB cache memory.
- HD 2500 GPU.
- Consumes 55W of power.
AMD A6 7th Gen
AMD A6 is another very popular low-end CPU. It is clocked at 3.6 GHz and provides a pretty decent performance considering the price point. Vega graphics are integrated and this is an APU (accelerated processing unit). The integrated graphics are better than other ordinary graphics cards. It can handle a few ordinary games and it is also unlocked which means you can also overclock this processor to get some extra juice out of it. It costs only $66 and consumes 65W of power.
It was first launched in mid-2016. Contains the Radon R4 graphics card which is integrated and provides a 129% better performance compared to other normal CPUs. it also supports DD4 rams, which is the latest type of primary that you can buy in the market.
AMD A6 Features
- It has a total of 2 cores and 2 threads.
- It has the highest clock speed of 3.6 GHz.
- It can be overclocked up to 3.8 GHz.
- Priced around $66.
- It has Radon 7540D integrated graphics.
So now let’s decide who is the best among these two processors: AMD A6 or Intel I3?
First, I am going to talk about the Intel I3 with 8GB RAM, and with this combination, can be easily able to play some of the trendy games like GTA V, call of duty modern warfare in a low setting. The experience was not bad, it was able to provide around 40-50 FPS in GTA V and I was able to play Mass Effect 3 easily with 60-70 FPS.
If you choose the Intel I3 for casual use then you can easily be able to play some less demanding titles. This will be a very good processor if you want to upgrade it in the future. It is a very good budget processor that will do day to day tasks very easily and can also handle a few games.
Second, the AMD A6 is also a perfect budget processor, and I have played some games with this processor coupled with an 8 GB RAM and the experience was pretty solid considering the price point. I have played Assassin creed brotherhood and Mass Effect 3 and I got an average of 40-50 FPS.
I also played GTA V but the experience was a bit laggy, despite having integrated Vega graphics. This is because it has 2 fewer cores compared to its rival Intel I3.
So if you ask me I will say that if you want a good performance in a budget processor then go with Intel I3 and if your budget is too tight then you can consider the AMD A6, but for the opportunity to upgrade your machine further, I would highly suggest you go with I3 because in the future you can also pair a graphics card with it.
The main concern is the price, so I m going to discuss the price here and I think Intel I3 is a bit expensive but it is worth the money cause you will get excellent performance out of this processor. Costing around $166. But on the other hand, if your budget is too tight then you should go with the AMD A6 and you may save a few extra bucks you can get this processor at $66.
They both are equally good processors considering the price but the I3 provides decent performance and you can also upgrade it, but on the other hand, the A6 will feel a bit laggy sometimes especially when playing some games. No, it’s totally up to you which processor you want to buy. I hope this article helped you to make your decision.
Both the CPU’s are equally good and you can buy one of them which will be more suitable for you. If you want a smooth performance then you can go with the Intel I3 which will cost you a few extra bucks, but if you are on a really tight budget then you can go for the AMD A6.
So we hope now you don’t have any confusion between AMD A6 vs Intel i3. If you have any then please comment below.
