  • Then you need to scroll down and select the option that says “playing Audio”, then click on the button below that says “Run the troubleshooter”.
  • Then you need to wait while windows will try to pinpoint the source of this problem.
  • Once the scan is completed successfully. Select the audio device on which you are having this issue, then hit the next button.
  • You have to wait until the utility analyzes your audio device for problems. When an issue is found the troubleshooter will recommend you a repair strategy. All you need to do is select the strategy and then click on the next or apply button and you will be done with it.
  • After completing these steps, restart your computer to effect the new changes.

Method 5 – Disabling and re-enabling the Audio Drivers

There could be some problem with your audio drivers and this problem could be easily fixed by disabling and re-enabling the audio driver that is causing this trouble. To enable and disable the audio drivers, follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Right-click on the windows menu and then select the option that is called “Device Manager”.
  • Once you are inside the device manager windows from there look for the option called Sound, Video, and game controllers.
  • Click on this menu and disable every audio driver by right-clicking on them ad then choosing the option called “Disable device”.
  • After all the drivers are disabled then you after a few seconds you need to click on them and select the option called “Enable device”.
  • Then you should restart your computer and hopefully, this problem will be gone.

Method 6 – Rolling back The Audio Driver

It may also happen that you have recently updated the audio driver and this issue is occurring due to that updated driver. In this case, you need to roll back or uninstall that driver. It could also happen that your audio driver is corrupted and it needs to be uninstalled. To uninstall an audio driver follow the instructions mentioned below.

  • Right-click on the windows button and then select the option called “Device Manager”.
  • Once you are inside the device manager, you need to find the option called Sound, Video, and game controllers.
  • Click on this option to expand right click on this option and select the option called “Properties”.
  • Under the properties tab, you will see an option on your left to roll back the driver.
  • If the rollback option isn’t available on your pc, then you need to select the option called “uninstall device”.
  • Restart your PC after uninstalling the audio driver. Your PC will automatically install them once you restart it.
  • Once you are done, you will notice that the Audio renderer error is gone from your PC.

Method 7 – Set the Same Sample Rate for Both Windows Sound Driver and ASIO Driver

Sometimes this error can occur because your Windows audio driver and ASIO Driver are operating on different frequencies. You just need to keep these two at the same frequency and from that point on you won’t be facing any problem. To do this you just need to follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Press the Windows key + R and then hit enter.
  • This will take you staring at the sound menu. Inside the sound menu, go under the playback tab and select the audio device that is giving you the trouble.
  • After selecting that particular device, you will see an option at the bottom called “Configure”. Click on that option.
  • Then, go to the “Advanced” tab and change the default format to 16 bit, 44100. Then click on apply and save your current changes.
  • After doing this, open the ASIO driver settings and go under the audio tab.
  • Once you get there, you will see an option at your right called “Sample rate”. Change it to 44100.
  • Then restart your computer and the problem of audio renderer error will be gone permanently.

Method 8 – Update the BIOS (Only Confirmed on Dell Computers)

Some users have said that the issue occurring on some dell computers was totally resolved after they have updated the BIOS. this process might be applicable for other computers but I can say that this method definitely works on dell computers.
